II go to loobie's for the Mac and cheese. It's great. Love the staff they know what I want as soon as they see come in the door. My son says they make the best omelettes he 's ever had.
Must stop place when we are out on the motorcycles
This little spot in Craighurst, corner of old 93 and Horseshoe Valley Rd. is a find if you like a good home-style breakfast. Pancakes are the real deal, light and fluffy and you can order local maple syrup to top them. Great sausage, peameal bacon, baked beans and cornbread are all available. Service is super which means a quick turnover of both locals and visitors to the area alike. Don't let the full parking lot put you off - people meet their buddies for breakfast here most days of the week!
It was ok average at that.We had a burger was store bought with frozen fries and no sides with it. And charged over 10 bucks for that. Husbands hoggie was averagenhe said and over priced. It also needsnto be larger in dining room very small. Nice staff just food which is overpriced. And not homemade.wont go back
I went there for lunch and we shared appetizers. Poutine and onion rings. The onion rings were cooked perfectly. So crispy and not greasy. However, no sauce comes with but ketchup is good enough. The poutine...the poutine...AMAZING! It was big and smothered in toppings, when usually places hardly give you anything. It was well priced and one of the best poutines I have ever had next to my hometown (scarborough, ON) homeburger and fries place. Loved it and wished I had tried their fried pickles.
We vacationed in the Craighurst area during August, and ate at Loobies for both breakfast and lunch several times. The folks working there are very friendly and service was fine. Breakfasts were very good - try the peameal bacon with your eggs, and the pancakes my daughter had were great. Try the butternut squash soup - excellent. Make no mistake, this is not fine dining but good homestyle cooking in a casual and friendly environment.
Ate hear after reading all the great reviews! Had the worst fish & chips ever, the fish was encased in the most horrible batter, and was not cooked very well. Staff okay, will not eat here again. Not many items on menu that were tempting.
Great food and very happy staff that are proud of the food they serve. It is a must for hungry people to stop for a homemade meal and great coffee and muffins for those that are in a hurry. Thanks Loobies, keep up the good work.
We visit Horseshoe Valley/Craighurst at least twice a year on vacation and we always eat at
Loonies. Their food tastes homemade, never processed and delicious. Prices are reasonable and there is always a line-up at peak meal times, so that tells you how good it is. Their specials are the best value so check them out. Excellent place for families, very kid friendly.
This is a wonderful, homestyle restaurant and neighborhood friendly place.
The homestyle recipes at this diner are wonderful. We just returned from vacationing in the Horseshoe Valley area and visited this restaurant several times. The prices are reasonable and the food is great. Watch for the daily specials, but no matter what is on the menu that day you won't be disappointed. If you go on a day that they have the Lumberjack stew, order it. It is the best! Also their Mac & Cheese is the cheesiest we have ever had! Deserts are good too. Try the local favorite of the Butter Tart. Great with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
We visited Loobies restaurant on October 15, 2008. We just missed breakfast but decided to have the toasted Westerns that were on the menu. They were very good and the portions were large. It was quite busy and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. We would definitely stop and eat here again when we are in the Barrie area.
